Inside and out, the new Forester flaunts several notable changes that enhance its appearance, practicality and tech-savviness. From revised styling to added tech, the 2017 edition of the Forester is a knockout.
EXTERIOR UPDATES
On the exterior, the SUV shows off a new front bumper cover on naturally aspirated models, as well as a new hexagonal grille. Redesigned front lights add a sleek look to the front fascia, with Subaru’s eye-catching C-shaped styling and a sharp-looking black inner bezel. The back lights add charm to the rear fascia with a similar C shape and luminous LED lights.
In addition, all 2017 Forester Premium models are now standard with a body-color rear spoiler, matching the Limited, Touring and XT Premium models. Finally, a new Sepia Bronze Metallic paint color is exclusively offered on 2017 Forester Touring trim levels, and there are two new 17- and 18-inch wheel designs with a high-contrast black and machined finish.
NEW UPHOLSTERY OPTION
If you choose to purchase a 2017 Subaru Forester Touring in Phoenix, you can now opt for an all-new Saddle Brown perforated leather-trimmed upholstery option. The package also includes contrast stitching on the seats, brown leather trim on the door panels, a lid for the center console storage box and other special interior updates.
ADDED DRIVER-ASSIST FEATURES
New nighttime driving features have been added to make commuting in the evenings safer. Along with available new High Beam Assist, which works with Subaru EyeSight, there are also new Steering Responsive Headlights. EyeSight has been updated this year too, adding new color cameras with a longer and wider range of vision. In addition, Forester Limited and Touring trim levels now come with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Blind Spot Detection.
IMPROVED PERFORMANCE & MPG
Revisions to the Forester’s powertrain have contributed to greater performance as well as improved fuel efficiency for 2.5i CVT models. For these trim levels, EPA fuel economy estimates are now at 28 mpg combined (26 city/32 hwy). In addition, Active Torque Vectoring, which improves cornering and reduces understeer, is now standard on EyeSight-equipped 2.0XT Touring trim levels.
