  • Training is updated annually

Subaru Master Technicians: The highest level of service care.

Subaru Senior Master Technicians have gained advanced skills not only through years of job experience but also through exclusive training. All technicians with this title have met the following criteria:

  • Completing the full Subaru Technical Curriculum
  • Completing and passing all instructor-led courses
  • Completing and passing all web-based and self-study courses
  • Completing and passing all Subaru New Technology Training
  • Serving as a Subaru Technician for a minimum of 5 years
  • Obtaining and maintaining 8 Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications (A1-A8)
  • Passing and retaining all Subaru Specific Certification Tests in the following areas:
    • Engine
    • Transmission
    • Brakes
    • Chassis and suspension
    • Electrical
    • Emissions

Interested in a career as a Subaru Technician?

Subaru University, also known as Subaru-U, is a partnership program between dealerships, Subaru of America, and select National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) and Automotive Youth Educational Systems (AYES) secondary and post-secondary schools. The program’s mission is to develop future Subaru technicians so that they are fully prepared for employment at a Subaru dealership, and capable of handling all Subaru vehicle systems. Students can take basic training, or advance their previous training through web-based and instructor-led courses, and the program is offered at no-cost for those who qualify to participate.
