Specs at a Glance
The Subaru Crosstrek is among today’s most adventurous compact SUVs. It’s a perfect match for outdoor enthusiasts. Not only is the new Crosstrek rugged enough to tackle off-road trails, but it also provides excellent everyday comfort. Here’s a look at how the SUV’s Base trim compares to the Premium trim.
Performance
These Crosstrek trims pack the same level of performance. Subaru’s modern 2.0-liter, Boxer four-cylinder engine gives the SUV a strong kick. Output is a competitive 152 horsepower, which enables you to climb hills confidently and merge onto fast-moving freeways. While a six-speed manual transmission comes standard, you can opt for a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission. Both trims receive Subaru’s full-time Symmetrical AWD system as standard equipment, thus ensuring optimum traction when conditions turn slippery. You’ll also benefit from the Crosstrek’s 8.7 inches of ground clearance.
Appearance
The base Crosstrek doesn’t sacrifice many styles. Its rugged exterior design is bound to catch your eye. Attractive 17-inch alloy wheels and black roof rails come standard. Some of the base model’s available exterior colors include Plasma Yellow Pearl, Pure Red, and Cool-Gray Khaki. While the Premium trim has a similar appearance, fog lights set it apart.
Features
A competitive list of standard equipment helps make the base Crosstrek a strong value. The Crosstrek is known for its easy operation, and Subaru’s Starlink multimedia system is a definite highlight. It features a 6.5-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone pairing. Bluetooth® and automatic climate control are standard as well. Along with the SUV’s optional automatic transmission comes a collection of EyeSight driver-assist safety technologies.
An extra number of cold-weather features are found on the Premium trim. Heated front seats, heated side mirrors, remote engine start with climate control, and wiper de-icers all come standard. Subaru also upgrades the Premium trim with a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and a six-speaker stereo system.
