Subaru recently introduced its next-generation EyeSight driver-assistance system, which now features brake light detection and a color stereo camera with greater detection range. The system also has an improved speed differential, so it can attempt to avoid or mitigate accidents between your car and another vehicle when traveling at speeds up to 30 mph, an increase from 19 mph last year. Additionally, vehicles equipped with the new EyeSight system get top safety scores.

EyeSight acts not only as a second pair of eyes for drivers, but also as an extra foot on the brake in situations when it detects that the driver is not responding to the threat of an impending accident. Though it offers advanced high-tech safety and convenience, and has been praised by customers and safety experts, it's one of the most inexpensive collision-avoidance technologies offered in the United States.

EyeSight integrates a wide range of crash-prevention features, including: pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control and lane-departure warning. It's also notable to mention that the system has an influence on IIHS safety scores. When equipped with the Subaru EyeSight system, both the 2014 Legacy and 2014 Outback are ranked No. 1 in front-crash prevention by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, beating out their class competitors hands down.
