While we've been waiting in anticipation for the new 2015 Legacy to arrive at Camelback Subaru, editors at AutoTrader and KBB.com got to preview the car firsthand before most anyone else. Needless to say, they had some pretty positive impressions of Subaru's flagship midsize sedan. Read on to see what they had to say, plus make sure you save the date for our 2015 Legacy launch on Aug. 15 at 6 p.m.! We'll have complimentary refreshments and hors d'oeuvres.

With a complete from-the-ground-up redesign, which includes enhanced powertrains and handling, improved efficiency, updated electronics and new styling, the sixth generation Subaru Legacy is set to be a top contender in its class.

AutoTrader's First Drive Review
After taking the car out on the road for the first time, AutoTrader editors noted that the latest installment of the sedan offers an excellent CVT (now the only transmission) and impressive handling, which they tested out on what they called some of the twistiest roads you can imagine. They also loved the new, easier to use touchscreen with voice-recognition technology, which is standard on all models, and stated that even with the car's advanced all-wheel drive system, something many competitors don't offer, the Legacy gets excellent fuel economy ratings.

To sum up their review, AutoTrader said the 2015 Legacy is "easily one of the best midsize sedans on the market."

Kelley Blue Book's First Drive Review
KBB.com writer Matt Degen also gave a detailed analysis of his first test drive in the all-new Subaru Legacy, which occurred over the course of a few days when he and his wife took the car (4- and 6-cylinder versions) on a road trip. Like AutoTrader's editors, Degen and his wife were impressed by Legacy's boost in fuel economy and they loved the new level of connectivity and infotainment provided by the 6.2-inch touchscreen, which offers Bluetooth, smartphone integration and an optional navigation system. He also noted that the engine's new positioning gives the car a lower center of gravity that helps improve handling and provide a more planted feel. In addition, when he needed to pass other drivers, he said the 3.6-liter engine made it a breeze to swoop by slowpokes.

To summarize his experience with the sedan, Degen stated, "My wife is already picturing herself in this vehicle. With its revamp for 2015, that should also be the case for many others in the market for a family sedan."
