Depending on the vehicle you’re working with, installing child-safety seats isn’t always easy. In fact, some vehicle models don’t make it very easy at all. That’s not the case with the 2015 Subaru Forester, however. Unlike some vehicles that don’t leave enough space for child seats and force front passengers to push their seating positions forward, the Forester offers copious space, a convenient latch system and other bonuses for parents.

Jennifer Geiger and Jennifer Newman, Cars.com editors, parents and certified car seat installation technicians, tested out the 2015 Subaru Forester and were impressed with it all around. The SUV earned top scores in each category that it was tested. As you can see below it got straight As across the board.

Geiger and Newman noted that the Subaru Forester offered plenty of space for child-safety seat installation and said the SUV’s anchors and Velcro straps were easy-to-use. When grading, they also considered fit issues and whether or not front-passenger legroom is affected by the installation of car seats. In both cases, the 2015 Forester excelled, presenting no fit issues or impact on front-passenger comfort. For the evaluation, the front seats were adjusted for a 5’8” passenger and 6’ driver.
