When the all-new, redesigned 2017 Subaru Impreza arrives late next year, sources say it’s going to resemble the Impreza 5-Door Concept that was recently revealed at the Tokyo Auto Show. The hatchback has a more sculpted exterior, a wider and lower stance, hawk-eye headlights, slim taillights and other elements that provide a sporty look. Although no one knows how the concept’s design will be implemented on the four-door Impreza sedan, we hope it has some of the same athletic touches.
As the revamped 2017 Impreza won’t be released for a while, Subaru is staying tight-lipped about details regarding feature and powertrain updates, instead deciding to focus on hinting at the car’s design through the 5-Door Concept. What you can expect, however, is an all-wheel-drive system - the drivetrain of choice for Subaru. We also expect to see the EyeSight suite of safety and driver-assist technologies and greater smartphone integration.
Taking a look at the Impreza 5-Door Concept’s specs, the few that were released that is, Subaru says the wheelbase is around 105 inches and there are 235/40 R19 tires. The automaker also said the car’s body is 173 x 74 x 57 inches (overall length × width × height). These specs could reveal a few more details about the 2017 Impreza, but we’ll have to wait to find out. Stay tuned for information from us down the road.
