If you’re looking for a little more serenity this New Year, the Japanese Friendship Garden is holding an Ikebana Exhibit that will bring beauty into your life, while relaxing your mind and spirit.

This is the seventh Ikebana Exhibit held by the Friendship Garden and it’s scheduled to take place at the end of the month from Jan. 29-31, 2016. Ikebana is the Japanese art of flower arrangement, literally translating into “giving life to flowers.” The upcoming exhibit will feature beautiful Ikebana flower arrangements all over the garden, which are composed of flowers, branches, leaves and surprising unconventional items. There will also be displays showcasing the process of creating Ikebana arrangements, informational tours, hands-on Ikebana experiences, music and a special FLOWER POWER Ikebana presentation by Carol Brecker.

If you want to discover the subtle and sophisticated art of Ikebana, don’t miss this upcoming event. For those who have never been to the Japanese Friendship Garden, the exhibit makes a wonderful first-time experience.

General admission is only $5 for adults; a small discount is available for seniors, children, students and military (with valid ID). Children 6 and under are free. The Japanese Friendship Garden is located in downtown Phoenix at 1125 N. 3rd Avenue, just off of West Portland Street. Public hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
