If you're looking for a rip-roaring rally car that is also fit for daily driving, you're in the right place! As you'll read in many 2018 Subaru WRX reviews, the Phoenix sports car is the best of both worlds, offering plenty of power and performance credentials alongside everyday practicality.

For 2018, the WRX emerges with a front-end facelift, as well as some upgraded underpinnings, improved sound insulation and newly available safety features. Continue reading to learn more about these changes, and to see photos, a walk-around video and a nifty vehicle comparison tool.

Choose From Base, Premium, Limited, STI and STI Limited Trims

From the entry-level model to the top-of-the-line Limited, the 2018 Subaru WRX in Phoenix is appointed with the hottest comforts and conveniences. Standard, the WRX comes with a rearview camera, a six-speaker audio system, a 6.2-inch touchscreen, satellite and HD radio, Bluetooth connectivity and smartphone integration.

Moving up to the WRX Premium adds even more popular equipment, from larger wheels and fog lights to heated front seats and a 7-inch touchscreen. A new Performance package is available this year, adding Recaro seats and red brake calipers among other stylistic upgrades. However, those looking for all the bells and whistles will want to take a closer look at the WRX Limited, which is outfitted with LED headlights and foglights, keyless entry and ignition, leather-trimmed seating and a 10-way power driver's seat.

STI and STI Limited trims come with similar outfits as the Premium and Limited, respectively.

2018 Subaru WRX Horsepower

2018 Subaru WRX reviews are impressed by the sports car's mechanical updates--including an upgraded suspension and retuned steering--which give it "truly impressive" grip and excellent response, according to Edmunds.com. On top of those tweaks, WRX STI models also receive new Brembo performance brakes, 19-inch wheels and enhanced all-wheel drive.

Much to the excitement of Subaru fans, last year's popular powertrains carry over into 2018. The WRX packs a punch with a 268-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder, which sends 258 lb.-ft. of torque to the wheels through a six-speed manual transmission (CVT available). Routine thrill-seekers may want to direct their attention, however, to WRX STI models, which feature a 2.5-liter turbocharged four capable of 305 horsepower and 290 lb.-ft. of torque.
