What's New for the 2019 Subaru Outback?

The newest Outback is safer, more tech-savvy, and more durable than in the past. The Outback is known for being a rugged, reliable crossover, and the 2019 version is no exception.

The popular EyeSight Driver Assist System, previously available only as an available option, is now a standard package for all models of the 2019 Subaru Outback. The base trim for the 2.5i now has two USB ports, a new instrument cluster with a 5-inch display LCD monitor and new overhead lighting in a shower array. The audio system for the base 2.5i has also been upgraded and features a SiriusXM satellite radio, a single slot CD player and a camera for rear-vision.

Great Trims to Choose From!

The Subaru Outback comes in six trims: 2.5i, 2.5i Premium, 2.5i Limited, 2.5i Touring, 3.6R Limited and 3.6R Touring. The 2.5i has many exciting infotainment features for everyone's enjoyment that are standard, such as SiriusXM, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Starlink telematics, a 6.5-inch touchscreen radio with Bluetooth and USB/iPod integrations. Valuable driver assistance is afforded by the hill-descent and hill-start assists, while a roof rack, a rear backup camera and seat-back release levers make traveling much more convenient.

The Premium trims have a 10-way power driver's seat for optimum driver comfort, a 6-speaker audio system with an 8-inch touchscreen, fog lights and an attractive and distinctive leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter. The Limited trims add leather seating and 18-inch alloy wheels for more stylish options inside and out and a keyless entry for convenience on powering up the vehicle. Superb sound is provided by a 576-watt Harman Kardon audio system with 12 speakers and a subwoofer, and additional features like blind spot monitoring, a wood grain dash trim and a power rear liftgate add luxurious amenities. The Touring trims have unique exterior colors and interior trim, Java Brown leather in the cabin, heated steering, navigation and 18-inch wheels for a bold upscale ride.

Top-Notch Engines!

2019 Subaru OutbackAll 2019 Subaru Outback trims come standard with a CVT that emulates a conventional automatic when pressed. A 2.5-liter flat-4 is standard for all trims and is rated at 175 horsepower, and a 3.6-liter flat-6 with 256 horsepower is available for Limited and Tourings trims. The 2.5-liter has exceptional fuel economy and adequate power, and the 3.6-liter has impressive power which will get everyone to where they are going as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

Safety First!

2019 Subaru OutbackThe Subaru Outback continues to provide optimum safety features for all its passengers with the EyeSight Driver Assist System, now standard for all trims. This system includes Pre-Collision Braking, Pre-Collision Throttle Management, Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Departure and Sway Warning with Lane Keep Assist. Pre-Collision Braking alerts the driver if an obstacle is too close ahead and can brake automatically if necessary. Drivers can avoid accidental forward movement with the Pre-Collision Throttle Management system and stay in their lanes safely with the Lane Departure and Sway Warning with Lane Keep Assist.

Other notable safety features are the Reverse Automatic Braking system which can sense objects behind the vehicle when in reverse and the available Steering Responsive Headlights that shine in the direction the vehicle is turning for a better view around corners. The NHTSA rates the 2019 Outback at five stars overall, and the IIHS ranks it is a Top Safety Pick.

It is easy to see why the Subaru Outback remains a popular crossover SUV. The 2019 has added many new features, most notably the EyeSight Driver Assist System, which makes an already safe ride even safer.
