Arriving this summer at Camelback Subaru, the new 2016 WRX and WRX STI get significant technology upgrades!
2016 WRX Trims: Standard, Premium & Limited
2016 WRX STI Trims: Standard & Limited
Subaru EyeSight
EyeSight driver-assist technology is now optional on the WRX Limited with Sport Lineartronic transmission. It adds Lane Keep Assist to its list of safety systems, which also include Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking and Lane Departure Warning. The new Lane Keep Assist feature helps drivers keep their vehicles in the appropriate lane by engaging the electric power steering system.
EyeSight comes in a package that also includes keyless entry and push-button start, a Harman/Kardon amplifier and navigation! Some additional top-end safety systems are thrown in the package too, including rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring and lane change assist.
STARLINK 6.2-inch & 7-inch Multimedia Systems
The standard 2016 Subaru WRX gets the latest version of STARLINK with a 6.2-inch multimedia system. The WRX Premium with 6-speed manual transmission gets the option of a larger 7-inch STARLINK multimedia system, Harman/Kardon amplifier and 9-speaker premium audio system.
The 6.2-inch STARLINK system offers the following in-demand features:
- Touch-screen management
- SiriusXM Satellite Radio
- HD Radio
- Pandora integration
- iHeart Radio
- Radio Data Broadcast System
- Aha and Pandora smartphone integration
- Bluetooth Hands-Free Phone & Audio Streaming
- CD, USB and auxiliary input jack
The 7-inch system receives all of the above features and adds:
- Hi-res LCD screen
- Navigation with three years of free map updates
- SMS text messaging
- iTunes tagging and multi-touch gesture control, which allows drivers to use the screen in the same way they’d use a tablet or smartphone screen
The WRX Limited builds on the Premium, adding luxury touches like leather seats, welcome lighting and LED low-beam headlights. WRX Premium and Limited trims also adopt 18 x 8.5-inch alloy wheels with 245/40 R18 summer tires.
A rearview camera comes standard on all models, including all WRX STI trims.
WRX STI Gets Similar Tech Upgrades & More
If you select a super high-performance STI model you now have the option to switch out the prominent signature wing for a low-profile trunk spoiler at no cost.
Like WRX, the standard STI gets a STARLINK 6.2-inch multimedia system. A navigation package is optional and includes a Harman/Kardon amplifier and 9-speaker premium audio system.
Up a level, the WRX STI Limited comes standard with the 7-inch multimedia navigation system, as well as the Harman/Kardon amplifier and 9-speaker premium audio system. It also gets rear cross-traffic and blind-spot monitoring, keyless entry and push-button start with PIN code access all as standard equipment.
