What's New for the 2018 Subaru Legacy?

The 2018 Subaru Legacy is Subaru's latest vehicle to hit the market and their latest in the Legacy model series. The new Subaru Legacy is a new midsize sedan that is built mainly for the comfort of the driver and passengers. For this model, some new features include a freshened style for the front and rear and a 6.5 inch standard display on the dashboard. The display can also be integrated with smartphone technology.

Five Distinct Trims

The 2018 Legacy comes with a unique set of trim levels and their own features to match. The Legacy has five different trim levels: the 2.5i, 2.5i Premium, 2.5i Sport, 2.5i Limited and 3.6R Limited. The 2.5i is the basic standard model, which has 17-inch steel wheels, a rearview camera, a four-speaker sound system and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. The 2.5i Premium is the upgraded model, complete with features like 17-inch alloy wheels, an All-Weather package that includes heated front seats and mirrors, a six-speaker audio system and dual-zone automatic climate control. The 2.5i Sport trim has similarities to the Premium but adds 18-inch wheels, LED fog lights, keyless entry and ignition, a sunroof and special flourishes to the interior and exterior. The 2.5i Limited is more advanced but has better safety technology such as a blind-spot monitoring system, improved suspension, power-adjustable front seats and heated rear seats. The 3.6R Limited is more of the same as the 2.5i Limited but also includes a six-cylinder engine and LED headlights that have a turn-adapting ability attached to them.

2018 Subaru Legacy ExteriorThe 2018 Subaru Legacy has a specially made engine that can account for the strength and endurance of the vehicle. As a mid-sized sedan, the Legacy has a sturdy engine that has a 175 horsepower rating at up to 5,800 wheel rotations per minute and can also produce 174 pounds by feet of torque. The engine also has flat 4 cylinders on the inside with variable valve timing and an all-wheel drive train to match it. On top of this, there is also a transmission that is continuously variable and automatic. The fuel economy functions on a combined 29 miles per gallon, getting 25 MPGs when riding through the city and 34 MPGs when on the highway and operates on regular unleaded fuel.

2018 Subaru Legacy InteriorSafety is one of the most important things that drivers consider when buying a vehicle and the typical precautions are taken into account, such as younger passengers with the inclusion of child seat anchors and rear door child safety locks. Stability and traction control have been improved with the engine and steering, with better front and rear ventilated disc brakes. Speaking of which, an emergency braking assist system has been included, as well as an engine immobilizer to deal with potential braking issues. A 4-wheel ABS system has also been added to this model and a post-collision safety system to check on the vehicle in the event of an accident. Finally, special dusk sensing headlights are included that can allow the driver to adapt to the time of day and adjust accordingly.
