What's New for the 2022 Subaru Ascent?
The 2022 Subaru Ascent gets just a few changes for the latest model year since the SUV is still fairly new to the market. The latest Subaru Ascent gets a new trim in the lineup called the Onyx Edition, which brings more options for interior amenities and has a distinguished exterior build. The Subaru Ascent is offered with some packages and add-on amenities, and there are some minor adjustments to its package offerings in 2022. The Ascent is produced in five trims that give you many options for your own customized ride. Seating ranges from seven with captain's chairs to eight, which is standard on the base level.
2022 Ascent Trims & Features
The 2022 Subaru Ascent lineup starts with the base trim called the Ascent. The Ascent features a 6.5-inch touchscreen display and cloth seats. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also standard on the base trim. A rearview mirror is included on the base Ascent, and it also has steering-responsive LED headlights. If you want even more amenities, you can upgrade to the second Ascent in the family called the Premium. The Premium upgrades to an eight-inch touchscreen display for superior visibility. The second trim level is also configured with WiFi. Heated front seats are included on this trim level, and you have the option of switching to a seating arrangement for seven rather than eight by ordering captain's chairs. A power liftgate is also added to this trim level, and it comes with a keyless entry system. Navigation, a panoramic sunroof, and a power rear liftgate are available. The Onyx Edition includes the Premium features and adds StarTex water-repellent upholstery and 20-in black-finish alloy wheels. The Limited has LED fog lights, a heated steering wheel, and heated seats in the back row. Perforated leather upholstery is also included with the Limited trim level, and it gets a Harman Kardon audio system. The top Ascent trim is the Touring, which comes standard with captain's chairs. Ventilated front seats and heated seats across the board are standard with the Touring. This trim also adds ambient interior lights.
2022 Subaru Ascent Horsepower
The 2022 Subaru Ascent is powered by a Boxer engine. Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is included with all trims of the Subaru Ascent, and it is powered by a four-cylinder engine with a 2.4L displacement. The Subaru's engine provides 260 HP. The base trim can tow 2,000 pounds, while the others have a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds.
Subaru Ascent Safety
The Subaru Ascent is equipped with EyeSight technology as its safety package. Lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control are standard safety aids. Blind-spot monitoring is added to the higher-end trims, along with a parking camera on the Touring.
