What's New for the 2025 Subaru Outback?

For the 2025 model year, the Subaru Outback has some trim-specific updates. The Limited trim level gets a longer list of standard features this model year, but otherwise the lineup remains the same. The Outback still stands out as a capable midsize SUV that has higher ground clearance than most of its peers. It also has a rugged design that helps the Outback with off-road driving.

What Are the 2025 Outback Trims & Features?

The Outback lineup starts with the Base model trim. This trim has 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, and LED fog lights. It also has roof rails. Cloth upholstery is standard, and the base trim includes dual-zone climate control. For technology, the Base offers dual seven-inch touchscreen displays with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone pairing.

The Premium trim is next. Its upgrades include heated front seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a leather steering wheel. The exterior mirrors are also heated. This trim replaces the dual infotainment screens with one larger 11.6-inch display screen.

Next in the lineup is the Onyx Edition trim. This trim adds a heated steering wheel and a power sunroof. The sound system is also upgraded to a Harman Kardon system with 12 speakers. The Onyx Edition also has more driving modes.

The Onyx Edition XT trim has a few more features, including heated back seats, a power-operated passenger's seat in front, and a full-size spare tire.

With the Wilderness trim comes all-terrain tires, a front skid plate, lifted suspension, upgraded roof rack, and distinctive exterior badges and copper accents.

The Limited trim adds a power liftgate, keyless entry system, and leather seats. It also has navigation and driver's seat memory settings.

The Limited XT trim has the same features as the Limited but a turbo engine.

With the Touring trim comes upgraded leather seats and ventilated front seats.

How Much Horsepower Does the 2025 Outback Have?

The base engine powering most trims produces 182 horsepower. The upgraded engine on the XT trims and the Wilderness produces 260 horsepower with a turbo charge. All-wheel drive is standard, along with an automatic transmission.

What Safety Features Does the 2025 Outback Include?

The Outback's safety package includes lane departure mitigation, forward collision warning, lane centering, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control. The Onyx Edition adds evasive steering assist, rear automatic braking, and blind-spot warning.
