The 2026 Subaru Forester gets a few noteworthy upgrades that make it an even more compelling choice for an SUV this year. The latest Forester has some interior upgrades, including a revamped center console with increased storage capacity. The Wilderness trim is also redesigned with some trim-specific features, such as increased ride height and more off-road capability.
What Are the 2026 Forester Trims & Features?
Starting off the lineup for the 2026 Subaru Forester is the Base model. The Base features LED headlights, 17-inch wheels, and standard roof rails. Inside, the Base is equipped with two seven-inch touchscreens, a sound system with four speakers, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with smartphone integration. Dual-zone climate control is also standard.
The Premium trim follows with additional interior features, including upgraded cloth upholstery, heated front seats, reclining rear seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a wireless phone charging pad. This trim also gets an 11.6-inch infotainment display screen and a sound system with two additional speakers. The Premium also has larger 18-inch wheels, and it adds a panoramic sunroof as well.
Next, the Sport trim features even larger 19-inch wheels with a special bronze finish. This trim also has gear shift paddles for a sportier driving feel, along with more drive modes that improve traction and handling. The seats are upgraded to synthetic leather.
The Limited trim level comes standard with a hands-free power liftgate, and its seats are upgraded to full leather. This trim has a heated steering wheel with integrated paddle shifters. More safety features are standard on the Limited trim level, including a power-adjustable front passenger seat.
The Touring trim level comes standard with a Harman Kardon audio system with 11 speakers, heated front and rear seats, and ventilated front seats. This trim also has larger 19-inch wheels.
The Wilderness trim, designed for off-road performance, features all-terrain tires, an underbody skid plate, roof rails, higher ground clearance, copper exterior accents, LED fog lights, and special water-resistant seats with copper stitching.
How Much Horsepower Does the 2026 Forester Have?
The Forester's standard engine is a 2.5L four-cylinder that produces 180 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. The hybrid engine is a 2.5L four-cylinder with an electric motor that produces 194 horsepower.
